Celebrity chef speaker Michael Symon is the chef and owner of critically acclaimed Lola and Lolita restaurants in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his career after graduating from The Culinary Institiute of America and quickly began cooking in some of the top up and coming restaurants including, Player’s, Picolo Mondo, Giovanni’s and The Caxton Café.
Joining forces with his wive, Liz, Lola opened in 1997 in the Historic Tremont of Cleveland. Liz brought elegance to the design of the restaurant and amazing taste of wine for the menu with unique wines from lesser known vineyards. All this, made Lola the destination of the year. In 2005, Michael, Liz and Doug Petkovic created a new concept of Lola and opened Lolita.
Michael Symon was named National Rising Star by Restaurant Hospitality magazine, was named one of the Top Ten Best New Chefs by Food & Wine magazine, America’s Best Restaurants in Gourmet magazine, featured in Michael Ruhlman’s book The Soul of a Chef, nominated for best chef-great lakes region by the James Beard Foundation and has made numerous appearances on WKYC-TV on Mondays with Michael and iVillage Live on NBC. He has hosted over 100 episodes of The Melting Pot on Food Network, Sara’s Secrets with Sara Moulton, Ready, Set, Cook and Food Nation with Bobby Flay. Michael Symon was a contestant on The Next Iron Chef and won, which made him a permanent Iron Chef on Food Network’s hit series Iron Chef America. Michael is one of the hosts on the critically acclaimed ABC talk show, The Chew, which won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2015 for Outstanding Informative Talk Show. He is available for hosting, cooking demonstrations, and endorsements.
