Dr. Zubin Damania, better known as ZDoggMD, is an internet celebrity known for his ability to educate and entertain in the same video. He creates music videos, parodies, and comedy sketches in order to bring medical issues, as well as systemic issues with healthcare to light. His goal is to provide a light-hearted performance that will make a difference in someone’s life. He speaks most frequently about burnout in healthcare, finding a voice in a broken system, technology and medicine, team-based collaborative care models, and the use of social media to influence and inspire transformation individually and as a whole.
Before he was a speaker, Damania was a hopitalist at Palo Alto Medical Foundation. In his time working at the foundation, he was awarded the Russell Lee Award for Clinical Teaching. Meanwhile, he was also performing stand-up comedy for medical audiences worldwide. In 2013, Damania presented for TEDMED with “Are Zombie Doctors Taking Over America?” This speech was named one of the best at the confrence. Damania is also the founder of Turntable Health, an innovative model of a team-based primary care ecosystem . This was a ground-up effort to get healthcare right by restoring the primacy of the human relationship. This is a concept he calls “Health 3.0.” This concept is based on the idea that connections in health care should be a partnership between the doctors a patients, as well at those on the health care team. Damania is breaking the ice in the healthcare industry with new ideas and speaking his truth from experience.
