Setting multiple record-breaking times, Olympic speaker Tyler Clary stands as one the world’s best in swimming and has earned himself an impressive number of titles. Hailed to be the next international star, Tyler Clary had a phenomenal year in 2009 breaking Michael Phelps’ American Record in the 400yd IM and breaking Ryan Lochte’s NCAA record in the 200yd backstroke one day later. Tyler also broke the American record in short course meters at the 2009 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool in Manchester, England.
At the 2011 US Winter National Championships, Tyler earned National Titles in the 400 IM and the 200 Backstroke. He also earned a Silver medal in the 200 Butterfly positioning himself as one of the best Male Swimmers in America. The 2009 NCAA Swimmer of the Year at the University of Michigan, Clary recently returned to train with legendary swim coach John Urbanchek at Fullerton Aquatics. Clary excelled in both collegiate and international swimming, qualifying to swim the 200m butterfly and the 400m IM at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships in Rome. His performance at Worlds, taking the silver medal in the 400 IM and Clary placing 5th in the 200 butterfly, earned him the breakout performer of the year award at the 2009 Golden Goggle Awards. In 2011, Tyler Clary proved once again to be a fierce competitor for Team USA at the FINA World Championships earning a silver medal in the 400 IM and a bronze in the 200 backstroke.
In the 2012 London Olympic Games, Tyler’s Olympics debut, he won the gold medal in the 200m backstroke while setting an Olympic world record. Tyler has since taken up a career in racing, racing for Toyota, Stronghold Motorsports, and SR2 Motorsports in road courses. He hopes to win a Sprint Cup Championship one day.
At the University of Michigan, Clary was a 3-time NCAA Champion. He majored in Computer Science and is interested in a career in robotics. Tyler Clary is available for sports clinics, sporting events, and endorsements.
