Celebrity speaker for hire Tim Cook is the current CEO of Apple Inc. Other than believing in sustainability, Cook addresses health and wellness as hallmarks of a successful company. He said Apple has been investing in health and wellness in recent years as it capitalized on the success of its Watch and hired dozens of doctors to bolster its health technology segment.
Since Cook took over as CEO, he has also significantly increased the amount Apple commits to charity. He donated close to $5 million in Apple stock to an unnamed charity in both 2018 and 2019.
Due to Cook’s undoubtable business prowess, it is no wonder he is a captivating public speaker. He has given several commencement addresses in recent years. The most recent one was at Stanford in June 2019, and others included: Tulane University in May 2019, his graduate alma mater Duke University in 2018, MIT in 2017, George Washington University in 2015 and his undergraduate alma mater Auburn University in 2010.
As always caring about important social issues, Cook is known for his activism regarding LGBTQ rights. Since becoming CEO, Cook has strongly pushed for inclusion and diversity, which Apple refers to as its “greatest strength” on its website. “To create products that serve everyone, we believe in including everyone.”
