Tamyra Gray

Reality TV Speaker Tamyra Gray is an actress, singer, and songwriter who placed fourth on American Idol in 2002. Growing up, she filmed Coca-Cola commercials and worked with Lisa Left Eye Lopes and rapper DMX in hopes of finding opportunities in the entertainment industry.

In 2002, she became one of the ten finalists on the first season of American Idol and her performance of Burt Bacharach was described by judge Simon Cowell as “one of the best performances on television” that he had ever seen. Alongside Rubben Studdard, the pair made a duet version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and appeared on the Idol Christmas Special on Fox with Kelly Clarkson, Rubben Studdard and other finalists.

The reality TV speaker has signed with 19 Records and put out her first self written solo album, The Dreamer which was released n 2004. She was a back-up singer on Jessica Simpson’s album, A Public Affair.

She landed a role in Boston Public as Aisha Clemens and appeared in seven episodes. Tamyra has also had guest roles on Half and Half,Las Vegas, Tru Calling, What I Like About You (TV series), Ghost Whisperer and All Of Us. She has starred on Broadway twice including Bombay Dreams and Rent. The clothing store H&M used Tamyra Gray to perform Dreamgirls in their new add of denim jeans. Tamrya is available for speaking engagements, endorsements and autograph signings.
