Scott Thompson

Business Speaker and former president of PayPal, Scott Thompson was responsible for the overall leader to build PayPal into the leading global online payment service. Before president of PayPal, Scott was the senior vice president and chief technology officer; oversaw information technology, product development and architecture for PayPal.

Before PayPal, the business speaker worked for Inovant, where he oversaw the global technology for the organization. At Inovant, he was responsible for all development, support and maintenance of Visa’s global payment system. He has also been the chief information officer at Barclays Global Investors and as the information technology solutions leader at Coopers and Lybrand.

During the mid 1990s Thompson ran an interactive website, developed by his younger brother Craig and called ScottLand. It had a live-chat area, voting and comedy espionnage and sold Buddy Cole T-shirts and video tapes of comedy sketches.

The business speaker published a humor book, Buddy Babylon: The Autobiography of Buddy Cole, and a graphic novel, The Hollow Planet, based on characters from The Kids in the Hall.

On January 4, 2012 Yahoo! announced that it named Scott Thompson as its new CEO. Scott Thompson is available for speaking engagements, corporate appearances and public relations campaigns.
