Olympic Speaker Ryan Lochte is one of the greatest individual medley swimmers in history, with many American and world records in short and long course. Ryan’s world records include taking down Phelps’ 200 IM record in 2009 and he has won eleven Olympic medals, five gold, three silver, and three bronze. After his success in 2009, Ryan was named USA Swimming’s Athlete of the Year Award.
In college at the University of Florida, he earned NCAA Swimmer of the Year, after winning all three events he competed in. His record in the 100 backstroke, 44.60, remains unbroken today. In the 2004 Olympics, Ryan won the silver medal in the 200 IM and was part of the now famous 800 freestyle relay who upset the Australians, who were going for the record of all the distance relays.
In 2010 Ryan Lochte defeated Michael Phelps head-to-head and winning six gold medals at the Pan Pacific Championships, which made him the world’s all-around greatest swimmer. He also won the ConocoPhilips Preformance Award and the USA Swimming Athlete of the Year. Ryan went on to win five more medals in the 2012 Summer Olympics and continues to train for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Ryan launched his shoe designed by Speedo – bright green rhinestone shoes with his name imprinted on the bottoms. He is available for autograph signings and speaking engagements.
