Olympic Speaker and six time Olympic Medalist Rebecca Soni is the former world record holder in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the current world record holder in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
In international competition, Rebecca Soni has won twenty-two medals—14 golds, 7 silvers, and 1 bronze ranging over the Olympics, the World, the Universiade and Pan Pacific Championships. In her first Olympics in 2008, Rebecca won 2 silvers and 1 gold medal. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, in her 200 meter breaststroke race, she beat Aussie Leise Jones who was the favorite. She also set the world record. Four years lateral the 2012 Summer Olympics, Rebecca defended her Olympic title in the 200-meter breaststroke in world record time, becoming the first woman to do so in the event.
Her accolades include Swimming World’s World Swimmer of the Year in 2010 and 2011 and the American Swimmer of the Year award in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
In 2010 Rebecca Soni teamed up with United Nations Foundation, Girl Up which focuses on improving the lives of girls by educating, protecting and empowering. She also does charity work for Hemby Children’s Hospital.
