Randy Jackson

Musician, record producer, TV personality, and Celebrity Speaker Randy Jackson has become widely famous for his work as judge on American Idol.

He started off his music career after Randy graduated from Southern University where he became a professional musician, playing with such musicians as Herbie Hancock to Bob Dylan and was a temporary member of Journey in 1983 and 1986. Randy Jackson has toured with Jerry Garcia, Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen and Madonna as well as years behind the scenes as a record producer and executive with Columbia Records and MCA Records.

In 2002, he was selected as a judge on Fox’s American Idol alongside Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. From his secrets to success, he wrote a book called What’s Up Dawg? How to Become a Superstar in the Music Business. Following the continued success of American Idol¸ Randy helped develop MTV’s Best Dance Crew which premiered in 2008. The next month, he released a compilation album featuring Paula Abdul, Joss Stone, Richie Sambora, Mariah Carey and many others. Randy Jackson hosts a radio show, Randy Jackson’s Hit List, and has his own eyewear called Zyloware eyewear. In May, 2015 Randy signed an overall producing deal with Endemol Shine North America where he will develop scripted, unscripted and digital programming that he will help produce.

Randy has spoken about causes for diabetes since becoming diabetic in 1999 and on gastric-bypass after his surgery in 2003. His book, Body with Soul: Slash Sugar, Cut Cholesterol, and Get a Jump on Your Best Health Ever shares his story to help encourage people to eat better to prevent diabetes. Randy established the Randy Jackson Childhood Obesity Foundation and has served as the spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s Heart of Diabetes campaign. He is available for speaking engagements, endorsements, and autograph signings.
