After taking her father’s advice, celebrity speaker Rachel Bilson dropped out of college to pursue a career in acting. She made appearances in TV commercials like Subway, Raisin Bran and Pepto-Bismol before landing in an episode of Buffy and the Vampire Slayer and 8 Simple Rues for Dating My Teenage Daughter. Her big role came we she was cast in The O.C. in 2003. Originally only cast for a few episodes, she became a regular after her character struck up a romance with Adam Brody’s character, Seth Cohen.
Her first film role was The Last Kiss starring Zach Braff and then in 2006 she was cast in Doug Liman’s thriller Jumper. She also starred in Chuck, New York, I Love You, How I Met Your Mother, Waiting For Forever and was a guest judge on Project Runway. Most recently, Rachel stared in the CW series, Hart of Dixie, from 2011-2015.
Collaborating with DKNY, they created a clothing line called Edie Rose in 2008. Rachel collaborated with her personal stylist Nicole Chavez and Steve Madden in 2011 to launch the footwear destination, ShoeMint. Rachel Bilson supports the following charities including: Artists for Peace and Justice, Cancer Research UK, Candie’s Foundation, DoSomething.org, Invisible Children, Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, Skin Cancer Foundation, and The Art of Elysium.
