Reality TV  Speaker Patricia Velasquez does it all – from modeling, to TV appearances, and to charity work. She is a new kind of triple threat in today’s entertainment world. Patricia Velasquez is considered by many to be the first Latina Supermodel. In 1989, she gained exposure in the Miss Venezuela pageant, and later left college to pursue modeling in Milan, Italy. By 1998, Velasquez was appearing in runway shows for Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and Versace among others. In addition to a successful runway career, Patricia Velasquez also found fame through her print work for numerous high-profile clients Chanel, Victoria’s Secret, and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

In addition to her outer beauty, Patricia Velasquez shines from within as a UNESCO Artist for Peace. Velasquez also founded the Wayuu Taya Foundation to improve the living circumstances of indigenous South American tribes, including the Wayuu, of which her mother was a member. Patricia Velasquez continues to appear on a plethora of television shows, including The L Word, Rescue Me, Ugly Betty, and the 5th season of The Celebrity Apprentice. In 2015, Patricia released her memoirs, Straight Walk, detailing her poverty as a child and her realization that she was a lesbian, making her the world’s first openly lesbian Latina supermodel.
