Nicole Curtis

Home renovator, TV personality and Home and Garden Speaker Nicole Curtis is best known for her self-titled show The Rehab Addict, which airs on DIY Network and HGTV, and her passion for rebuilding and designing homes and communities. Nicole decided at a young age that a desk job was not for her. Growing up around the Detroit area with a family of “do it yourself” handymen that enjoyed restoring old furniture, she witnessed many homes and communities crumble in the depressed city, which inspired her to do the work she does today.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Home and Garden Speaker Nicole went on to start her own interior design company Nicole Curtis Design. During this time she also worked in real estate with Edna Realty and Re/Max, where she developed the negotiation and real estate investment skills she needed to buy old homes, and refurbish them, instead of destroying them.  Then in 2010, Nicole’s success as a real estate investor, interior designer, and home restorer, lead her to celebrity as she was given her own show Rehab Addict.  The DIY Network and HGTV program follows Nicole as she works to save homes from the wrecking ball in Detroit and Minneapolis neighborhoods.  Nicole’s creativity and innovation in restoring houses, that others would condemn, all while sticking to a strict budget, continue to amaze audiences across the country. The show has been a hit, running four seasons with a fifth season that kicked off in September of 2014.  On top of her rehab for homes, she continues to work as a licensed real estate agent for Keller Williams Realty.

The home rehabber is also a mom and the owner of two rescue dogs. Along with being a preservationist of old homes, buildings and antiques, she is an advocate for animal rescue, as well as women in the home-improvement business. In an industry that tends to be male dominated, Nicole works to show that women can tackle big home projects just as well as any man can.
