Sports Speaker Michael Andretti made his mark both on and off the race track. As a successful driver, coach and team owner, he has established himself as an Indy expert. Michael Andretti is the son of Formula One and IndyCar legend Mario Andretti, and has distinguished himself on and off the track as a superstar in his own right. After winning the Super Vee championship in 1981 and following up with the Formula Atlantic Championship, Andretti won the 1985 Indianapolis Rookie of the Year award. In 1991, Michael Andretti won the IndyCar championship.
After retiring from IndyCar racing following the 2003 Indianapolis 500, Michael Andretti founded his own Indy Racing League team called Andretti Green Racing. As a team owner, Andretti has been extremely successful, with Tony Kanaan winning the 2004 IndyCar Series Championship, Dan Wheldon winning the 2005 Indy 500 and Series Championship, and Dario Franchitti winning both the Indy 500 and Series titles. Though Michael Andretti briefly returned to the track for the 2006 Indianapolis 500 to help develop his rookie son Marco’s talent, Andretti continues having a successful career as a car owner. He was also a contestant on Donald Trump’s show, The Celebrity Apprentice. Michael Andretti is available for speaking engagements, infomercials, and personal appearances.
