Celebrity chef speaker Kevin Sbraga is a restaurant owner and television personality most recognized for winning Season 7 of Bravo’s cooking competition show, Top Chef. A native of New Jersey, Celebrity Chef Speaker Kevin Sbraga received his bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales in Miami, Florida. Chef Kevin worked in several restaurants before landing what many would consider the culinary dream job of a lifetime, working as a consultant for Iron Chef Jose Garces, researching and testing recipes for Chef Garces bestselling cookbook, Latin Evolution. Chef Garces took note of Kevin Sbraga’s hard work and motivation which led to a new job as culinary director for Jose Garces’ organization, Garces Group. Chef Sbraga was trusted with the awesome responsibility of overseeing all fifteen of the Iron Chef’s restaurants and catering company. After winning the award for Best Meat Presentation in the Bocuse d’Or USA culinary competition in 2008, Chef Kevin was hired for the position of Executive Chef at Rat’s Restaurant, owned by renowned restaurateur Stephen Starr in Hamilton, New Jersey. In 2011, Chef Kevin Sbraga opened his self-titled restaurant, SBRAGA in Philadelphia’s lively Avenue of the Arts.
In 2010, Chef Kevin Sbraga was chosen to compete on the popular television show, Top Chef, alongside fellow contestants and talented chefs, Ed Cotton, Angelo Sosa, Kelly Liken, Tiffany Derry, and twelve others. Throughout the competition, Chef Kevin cooked for judges Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, Eric Ripert, and guest judges including Celebrity Chefs Anthony Bourdain, Jose Andres, Marcus Samuelsson, Art Smith, Michelle Bernstein, Spike Mendelsohn, Bryan Voltaggio, and many others. Chef Kevin Sbraga was ultimately crowned the winner for season seven of Top Chef, winning the title, the prize money, and the fame that followed.
