Danica is the only woman to win in the IndyCar Series and winning 3rd place at the Indianapolis 500. In 2013, she became the first female driver to win a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pole, turning in the fastest qualifying lap since 1990.
Danica began her racing career in kart racing, and then raced for Formula Ford in England before racing IndyCars. She was named Rookie of the Year in 2005 and by 2008 she became the first woman to win an Indy car race. Her personal best came when she placed 3rd in the 2009 Indy 500 and this was the highest finish by a woman in the event’s history. In 2010, Danica Patrick began racing NASCAR Nationwide Series as the #7 Chevrolet Impala for GoDaddy.com and JR Motorsports part time. With equity stake in her #7 car, Danica had her best finish at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In her post-race interview she mentioned her goal was to place top 10, and that’s exactly what she did at the Subway Jalapeño 250 Nationwide series a few months later. Most recently, Dianica surpassed Janet Guthrie for the most top 10’s by a female in Sprint Cup Series history.
Danica has been the host of many TV shows and has been featured on many magazines including Sports Illustrated, SHAPE, ESPN, Playboy, and the 2008 and 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In 2006, Danica joined Dale Earnheardt Jr. in a cameo for Grammy-award winning artist Jay-Z’s music video “Show Me What You Got” and has starred in various Super Bowl ads for GoDaddy.com. She also won the Kids Choice Award for favorite female athlete in 2008 and again in 2012. In February 2015, Danica was hired by Fox NASCAR as a booth analyst for Xfinity Series races.
